Modern Slavery Statement

Man with Van Eastham Modern Slavery Statement

Man with Van Eastham is committed to conducting all aspects of its operations in an ethical, responsible and lawful manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation within our own operations and our supply chains.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Man with Van Eastham provides professional transport and moving services. Our activities rely on a network of suppliers and subcontractors, including vehicle providers, fuel suppliers, equipment providers and occasional labour agencies. We recognise that, even in relatively low-risk sectors, there remains a possibility that modern slavery practices can occur, and we are committed to identifying, preventing and addressing such risks.

Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery

We operate a clear, zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with, or support, any business or individual involved in practices that exploit people, infringe on their human rights, or subject them to forced, bonded, or compulsory labour.

This commitment applies to all those who work for or with Man with Van Eastham, including employees, subcontractors, agency workers and suppliers. Non-compliance with our zero-tolerance position is grounds for terminating commercial relationships and, where appropriate, reporting concerns to relevant authorities.

Supplier Standards and Due Diligence

We expect our suppliers and business partners to share our commitment to combating modern slavery. As part of our due diligence, we assess new and existing suppliers for ethical and labour standards, and we reserve the right to request evidence of compliance with applicable modern slavery and human rights legislation.

Our supplier standards require that workers are employed voluntarily, are of legal working age, receive fair wages, and work in safe conditions. We discourage the use of subcontracting without our prior knowledge and expect transparency in the upstream supply chain.

Supplier Audits and Monitoring

Man with Van Eastham is developing and implementing proportionate supplier audit and monitoring processes. Where we identify higher-risk suppliers or categories, we may conduct more detailed checks, request additional documentation or carry out on-site reviews. These audits focus on working conditions, recruitment practices, wage records and evidence of policies that prevent forced labour and exploitation.

If a supplier fails to meet our standards, we will work with them to implement corrective actions within a defined timeframe. Where meaningful improvement is not achieved, we may suspend or terminate the business relationship.

Training and Awareness

We are committed to raising awareness among our team about modern slavery risks and indicators. Key personnel involved in procurement, supplier management and supervision of workers receive training to help them identify warning signs, understand reporting routes and support our zero-tolerance stance.

We encourage open discussion about ethical conduct and ensure staff understand that any concerns about modern slavery will be taken seriously and handled sensitively.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

Man with Van Eastham encourages anyone who has concerns about potential modern slavery or human trafficking within our business or supply chains to report these concerns as soon as possible. Concerns may be raised with a manager, a senior member of the business, or through any internal reporting mechanism that we operate from time to time.

We will investigate all reports promptly, fairly and confidentially wherever possible. No person will suffer any form of retaliation for raising a concern in good faith, even if it is not ultimately substantiated.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

We recognise that combating modern slavery requires ongoing attention and improvement. Man with Van Eastham is committed to reviewing this Modern Slavery Statement and our associated practices at least once every year, or more frequently if there are significant changes in our operations, legislation or risk profile.

The annual review will consider the effectiveness of our supplier audits, training, reporting mechanisms and any incidents or concerns raised. Where necessary, we will update our processes, strengthen our controls and enhance our engagement with suppliers to reduce the risk of modern slavery in our business and supply chains.

Approval of this Statement

This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Eastham, who are responsible for ensuring its implementation and the continuous improvement of our approach to preventing modern slavery.
